Y’all Come Back Now, Ya Hear? is inspired by my Aunt Mable — one of the strongest, kindest women I’ve ever known. She lived in Plant City, Florida — the strawberry capital of the world — and if you’ve ever been to the Strawberry Festival, you know the kind of joy that place carries. That was Aunt Mable. Pure sunshine and grit.
Independent to her core, she wouldn’t let anyone do a thing for her. Even at 80 years old she was climbing on the roof clearing tree limbs like it was nothing. But she’d drop everything to help someone else without hesitation.
Some of my favorite memories are riding with her to pick our own strawberries and black-eyed peas, hands sticky and red from juice, talking the whole way home. During strawberry season we always made a stop at Parkesdale Farms for shortcake piled high and thick strawberry milkshakes — the kind you had to eat with a spoon before you could drink them.
But her front room was her real gathering place. She could sit in there talking with folks for hours — neighbors, family, church friends — and everyone felt welcome the second they walked in.
A woman of deep faith, she never missed church, was famous for her collard greens and cornbread dressing, and no matter how long you stayed, every visit ended the same way:
“Y’all come back now… ya hear?”

Bless Your Heart, Darlin’ is inspired by my sweet Mama — a deep South Alabama woman with a gentle spirit, a strong faith, and a heart that knows how to comfort without saying much at all. I inherited my "cornbread" accent from her, even though I lived in Florida my entire life.
She picked cotton. She taught me to have faith in Jesus. And she taught me to never tell a lie. If the phone rang and I said, “Tell them I’m not here,” she’d reply: “Well, you better leave then — ’cause I ain’t lying.”
To this day, I still can’t tell a lie.
My mama loves flowers. Our house was always full of them — pots, plants, blooms everywhere. She could look at a plant just the right way and it would grow. And when life got hard, she was always there — calm, kind, and steady — reminding me that everything would be okay.

Well I’ll Be a Monkey’s Uncle is a classic banana nut bread candle inspired by my Daddy — a hardworking welder with a quick wit, a pocket full of dad jokes, and a love for bananas that bordered on legendary.
He was the kind of man who could walk into a room, spot someone he knew, and say, “Well, I guess they’ll just let anybody in here.” If you burped, he’d grin and say, “Bring it up again and we’ll vote on it.” And if money was tight? “I’m so broke I can’t afford to pay attention.”

Ain’t Got a Lick of Sense is our unscented candle inspired by my Uncle Benny — the kind of man everybody knew and everybody loved.
He and my Aunt Rubie lived in Alabama, and their house was never quiet — it was always full. People came and went all day long, kids ran in and out, and there was always something cooking on the stove.
Aunt Rubie made suppers big enough to feed whoever walked through the door, and Uncle Benny held court in his chair — watching the world go by and telling it like it was. And if he agreed with what you said, he’d lean back, grin, and say the same thing every time: “I heard that!”
He drove an old green and white Ford truck with a tag on the front that read The Green Fly, and everyone in town knew exactly who it belonged to.
If someone did something foolish, he’d shake his head and say:
“Baby… he ain’t got a lick of sense.” Not mean. Just honest.

Her house in Alabama smelled like butter, sugar, and something cooking more often than not. Food was just always there — for big family meals, for company, or for no reason at all. She loved on everyone and her house was always full.
